john's gospel is kinda weird. he doesn't cover a lot of stuff the other 3 mention. at the same time he has stuff in there not in the other 3.
whatever.
i was visiting a website in order to prove to people that the bible can be seen as a very extremist book.. however... the site also showed some contradictions and although i am aware of most of them i came to one contradiction that was actually very shocking: the part that satan tries to temp jesus christ.
most of the gospels mention this and the timeframe shows that it happened directly after the baptism of jesus.
however... look at what happens in john!.

De: Where does it actually indicate how much time elapsed since the baptism? I just read chapter one and the first part of 2. As mentioned, when the story picks up after the epilogue, Jesus baptism in mentioned in passing as something John did a while ago.

uhhhh you might want to re-read John 1 and 2. The first part is basically a prologue and then John TALKS about Jesus, whom he previously baptized. The baptism itself is not in John at all. In John1:29, when Jesus talks to him, he had already been baptized.
there is a deaf and blind brother that depended on bus and train in nyc.
2 hours one way by himself.
.
i'm sure it's changed a bit but I know some bethelites who would go 90 minutes to 2 hours each way for meetings depending on where they were assigned.
so another wonderful tract campaign will take place in november.
cities and towns will be inundated by a cheap bifold about the dead .. but the dubs are warned--if there is a "no trespassing sign" on a property enter at your own risk.
so says the letter from mother/gb that was read this week at the hall.
yeah this is nothing new. I'd have to dig for it but it's been over a decade since they said all that.

the other day, we (my df wife and i) take our baby to his firsts vaccinations.
since he born, my parents-in-law ( former witnesses) .
violated the prohibition of talking with us and there are more close to us than before.
Basically what bugbear said. I wish we had a time machine so I could take anti-medicine people back 100 years and show them what it was like.
Also, for something recent, check this out http://www.npr.org/2013/09/01/217746942/texas-megachurch-at-center-of-measles-outbreak
That's basically what would happen EVERYWHERE if people stopped being vaccinated.

vaccinations have saved MILLIONS. Odds are you are alive right now because either you or the people around you are vaccinated. Weird shit can happen like bad batches (which is super rare) or allergic reactions, which is rare, and a reason to consult your doctor beforehand.
If you're anti-vaccine you are a retarded idiot (edited, guideline 3 - jgnat) who should eat a bullet and do the world a favor.

countdown to the anti-vax people showing up in this thread.
hope this isnt a repost.
i tried to search a little but didn't see this anywhere.
does anybody know where the philadelphia region of witnesses are going to be sent to this year?
Most venues just plain suck for a convention. Most arena type places are built for sporting events that are like 3 hours max. You get up and get a pretzel, get a beer, take a piss. Sit down, stand up and cheer. They're aren't made for sitting in 4 hour stretches listening to boring old fucks talk.
